what are the weak points of ax

and what is de difference between GT and GTI

Weak points? Are there any???
In fact you could miss some security features like airbags or abs (OK, some GTi have abs!)
Otherwise I don't know of any grave problems. It even doesn't tend to corrode, as many people could claim of a Citroen.

The main differences are the injection and suspension. While GT has monopoint delivering 75PS, the GTi with its multipoint injection reaches 90PS.
Suspension and brakes are more stable, but mean also more weight and more fuel consumption. All in all people say accelaration is better with GT on the first meters, but GTi has better top speed and with each rpm more, it shows its 90PS...

from holland but my germans is not so good so that is why i'm typing in english.

i have heard that a gt can make 17 on 1 liter whas that a joke?

how about the gtI also round the 10-15 on 1 liter or less?

but interieur is the same the gt it is only 1 sec slower on the 100km/h

i wont to fit a open air filter and an sportauspuff how fast is a gt then

GT: 17 on 1 liter means 5,9 Liter/100km. No Problem if you drive about 100-110km/h.
GTI: 10-15 on 1 Liter means 6,6-10 Liter/100km. 6.6 with const. 100km/h. Maximum is 11-12 Liter/100km. Consumption average 8.5 Liter/100km (with my GTI over 37.000km).

that's better than what i am now driving a renault 5 gt turbo.

but there are no points that i should louk out four.

like steering or expension?

Since it is already a bit modified (front) the price is ok. On the other hand owner of "tuned" cars tend to drive their cars like that and it could possibly be a little worn out.
Defective drive shafts can be quite expensive, but recognized by a rhythmic sound during curves while accelerating.

Another important point I forgot is oil consumption. A dry engine could be even more curious, but i shouldn't be too much! Especially the left hand side
/EDIT: of the engine!

A fuel consumption of 6 liters per 100 km (equals ~16 km per liter) is maybe possible for the GT but quite unrealistic in my opinion. Nobody really drives like that all the time. 12 - 13 km per liter are ok.
Around 11 - 12 km per liter should be normal for the GTi.

The interior is that of the second series of the Citroen AX (since July 1991). The GTi hasn't been produce before.

Such a 'Sportauspuff' mostly looks nice, but in fact you wont gain the plus in performance it is advertised for! Around 3 - 5 PS are possible

so the engine shouldn't be wet from the oil and also not completely dry?

then the owner has probberly cleaned it before my arrival.

is there a real difference between accerleration with a GT and GTi?

my english is not bad but can you translate it in dutch:
Defective drive shafts??

but this AX is not tuned already only lowerd a few cm.

This is what I meant. If it is completely dry, then the owner must have cleaned it to hide something.
I neither drive a GT, nor a GTi, but some people here in the forum do.
So many say, that there is a litte difference.

drive shaft = aandrijfas (according to babylon.com )

o ah aandrijfas

with a lot of cars it brakes.

is there another fast version of the ax or do you drive a normall one. now i drive in my mom's ax 1.1 first

so the rest is always good en doesn't brake easely. no motorparts that are quit often broken.

This engine is built to last! They are running 200000 km and even more!
Sometimes you have to change the sealing of the cylinder head or something like that, but that is nothing AX-specific. Provided you care a little for your engine. Enough oil and so on...

I'm driving my second AX 1.1. And I'm very appreciated. Small, fast and cheap.

If you have your AX there is maybe another point you should watch for: the generator. The regulator of the generator sometimes wrecks. You see that when your electronics are flickering (esp. front or inner lights).

yesterday i saw an ax gt
km 87000 it's from your country

very nice car, the seats have some leather and the rest of the interieur is also nice.

but it is a gt and not a gti, is a gt not to slow it has only 55 kw

Topspeed GT with 75PS: 176 km/h
Topspeed GTi with 90PS: 186 km/h
The Speedometer shows more (perhaps 200),
but that's not real. With engine-tuning you can
reach 180-185(GT) and 190-195(GTi).
But I think they are both fast enough by default.

The values for speedup 0-100:
GT with 75PS: 10.4 sec
GTi with 90PS: 9.9 sec


There are two other models which must be mentioned:
GT with 84PS (carburetor, whitout KAT): 9.6 sec
Sport (94PS, 1300ccm, 2 carburetors, whitout KAT): < 9 sec

AX GT injection (1989-1992): 10,4s
AX GT injection (1992-): 9,7s

AX GTi (1991-): 9s
/EDIT: for the 95PS model...

Although times differ a lot from source to source...

i saw at the back gt
at the end of the day i'm going to do a test round. i will see how fast it is and if it has a kat. i dont hope so

it has electric windows
doors electric
sunroof
electric lights in heights
the seats are half leather (very nice)

it has a sticker on the side window that says opra the paris.

so this is the slow version(less fast)

than it has an 1.4 monopoint injection. if i am correct

from witch year did they build them?

Opera de Paris is a nice model. A limited edition.
I doubt that you will feel the difference. In fact it's also the condition of the engine which decides the exact timing.

Monopoint injection is correct. I think they build this version around 90-91.

the only problem is that the car hasn't moved from the place where he is standing now. i don't know for how long but more than half a year

Probably not the best conditions for a car.
Half a year is quite a long time! Look and decide I'd propose!

When you buy the car, than first move slowly, change oil and cooling fluid and so on. A Citroen wants to be moved, but in this condition I wont overvalue this statement for the first months. Then it should be no further problem.

i hope sow. the garage said that he started the engine every week but i don't believe that. we will see tonight i hope it drives nice.

if i buy it. i directly buy a new spring set to lower the car and i want a nice sound from the engine. new auspuff and filter.


does anayone know where i can buy this or does anyone here have these parts?
